Arthur Graham gave Leeds the lead after sixteen minutes and Keith Parkinson doubled the score fourteen minutes into the second half. Steve Balcombe replaced Ray Hankin at Centre Forward for Leeds at half-time, while Vancouver rang the changes and at half time Gerry Ingram came on at Centre Forward for Trevor Whymark and scored after eighty-four minutes. Vancouver had failed to take advantage of a penalty for hand ball against Gwyn Thomas, a minute after Leeds had got their second goal, when David Robb's spot kick was saved by Henry Smith with his foot to crowd a fine performance by the Leeds rookie keeper. After fifty-eight minutes Buzz Parsons replaced Gerry Gray at Inside Right, while Ralston Dunlop replaced David Robb at Inside Left and Paul Nelson took over from Bob Bolitho at Right Back on the seventy-eight minute mark. Terry Morris of Leeds was the Referee. Receipts were £13,475.
